Lakkidi Village Resort in Wayanad is a place that’s surrounded by densely populated trees and mountains.
This resort is just about a km from the main road. Once you reach the entrance of this resort, this place completely transforms into a different (green) world altogether.

Due to uneven land area, only the reception and few rooms are in the ground level, most of the rooms are in a lower ground level. The white building in below picture has both reception (ground floor) and restaurant (only lunch is served in the 1st floor, breakfast and dinner are served at 2nd floor).
Talkies Tip In the restaurant, take the seats next to the glass window – you will get cool breeze, can hear the sound of waterfall, and get maximum natural light.
For lunch, we went with the chef’s recommendation to try the local cuisine – rice with fish curry. Dinner is usually buffet style – there will be Kerala special dishes available. Overall, we found the food quality to be good. The breakfast buffet spread had very limited items.
The swimming pool is actually best suited for kids. They will find it to be their exclusive pool.
Talkies Alert Do not try to climb the natural waterfall setting. We saw a person slipping on the rock and get hurt badly.
The rooms were basic, large in size, and comfortable. Since the resort is completely surrounded with trees, when it rains you will find a lot of insects and small reptiles on the walking path. None of the rooms have WiFi.
We strongly recommend you to take a walk the entire resort. There is a natural water stream at the backside of the resort, a mini walking bridge, decent greenery setting all across the walking path.
Lakkidi Village Resort also has a kids play area, but it was rustic and practically not usable. It was evident that the kids play area was not maintained. But, maintaining this green-surrounded-resort is not an easy task at all.
Right in front of the villas, there are small open areas for kids to play. During our stay, we could see at least 5 to 7 kids playing.
Early in the morning, you can go on a long trek to the nearby mountain – ask the reception for direction / guide.
The resort has basic indoor game facilities, but apart from this there are no other activities to do inside the resort.
