When you are in Ooty/Coonoor, apart from seeing the regular places that the destination is famous for, we strongly recommend you to drive/ride from Ooty <–> Coonoor.
It is a scenic 21 Km drive with few sharp bends. If you are driving from Ooty to Coonoor, then you will be driving downhill for most of the time.
The entire drive will be an enjoyable one, you will see many viewpoints, and many hills with tea plantation. If at all you are parking your vehicle on road to take photograph, be very careful about the place you park, the road is prone to high traffic at most of the times.
If you want a better photo of tea plantation areas, its recommended to go off road and get into it. There are no fencing.
